Intercollegiate Tournament - Sunday, February 27, 2011

We will be hosting our 6th annual Intercollegiate Tournament for 2011 (well, almost annual...except for 2010...the Intercollegiate had to be cancelled due to the Vancouver Winter Olympics).

Date: Sunday, February 27, 2011

Location: SUB Ballroom

Time:
Mixed foil: 12:00 pm
Mixed epee: 1:00 pm

Times are close of registration. We will start fencing 15 minutes after registration closes.

Fee: $10 per event

Registration: You can pre-register by going here on Askfred - http://askfred.net/Events/moreInfo.php?tournament_id=14049

Requirements: You have to be a member of any university fencing club! That's it! You don't have to be a student. As long as you are a part of a university fencing club, that is fine. All skill levels are welcome. You do not need a CFF licence to compete in this tournament, this is NOT for points, and as such, you will not receive any CFF points.

Equipment: We will be using electric fencing equipment in this tournament. Note that the new foil bib masks are NOT required for this tournament.

For UBC Fencing Club members:
If you don't own your own equipment, that's fine - we will let you use the club's jackets, masks, gloves and assorted electric equipment like weapons, body cords, etc. You just have to email us and let us know how much equipment you need to borrow. Breeches/fencing pants are not required but recommended. Women are required to wear a chest protector. We have plenty in case you don't own one.

If you want to borrow any of our club equipment, please let us know which ones:
For foil: mask, jacket, glove, lame jacket, body cord and/or electric weapon (right or left-hand?)
For epee: mask, jacket, glove, body cord and/or electric weapon (right or left-handed?)

Prizes: medals (to top 4 - there will be no bronze medal match)!

Food: There will even be food and snacks provided, free of charge!

Waiver forms: We will have waiver forms at the registration desk for you to sign. You are required to sign it before fencing.

Please register early!
- this is so we can figure out how many pistes to set up and how many electric sets to use during the tournament.

We will be inviting fencers from SFU, UVIC and WWU to do some friendly sparring with us.
